Bob began writing as a young boy. He was raised in a family of readers and writers, so writing always seemed natural and normal to him.

As a teenager, he tried submitting a couple articles to The Salvation Army’s youth magazine (called, at that time, SAY Magazine). They were accepted, and published. Over the next few years, he submitted and published a few more pieces. In his earliest years as a pastor, he began writing more frequently forThe War Cry and other publications.

From 1987-1991 Bob was an editor for The Salvation Army’s publications. Since then, he has written and published hundreds of articles for numerous publications, written a monthly newspaper column, and earned awards for his radio commentaries as well.
